French Engineering Works (Pty) Ltd is a manufacturer, exporter, importer and distributor of standard and premium High Speed Steel Cutting Tools. The Head Office and Factory are located in Kew, North East of Johannesburg.
Product Range
The extensive FEW product range stocked includes Taps, Dies, Drills, HSS Cutters, Tungsten Carbide Cutters, Reamers, Countersinks, Counterbores, Tool Bits and allied lines such as Broaches, Gauges, Tap Wrenches and Die Stocks.
Special Taps and Thread Rolling Dies (Flat and Circular) are manufactured or reconditioned against request.
HSSE-V Application Machine Taps for through and blind holes in Stainless Steels, High Resistance Steels, Cast Iron and non-ferrous metals are available ex-stock.
FEW manufactures threading tools to ISO, DIN, JIS and USCTI specifications, and is certified ISO9001:2008. The wide range of thread forms readily available include M, MF, UNC, UNF, UNEF, UN, NPS/F, NPT/F, BSW, BSF, BA, BSB, BSP G / RP, and BSPT RC.
History
The French Engineering Works is a family business that was established in 1918 to manufacture Rock Drill spares for the mining industry in Johannesburg. The founder, Herman Moser, soon expanded into precision tools, including HSS cutting tools for the metal industry. His Swiss origins instilled a pride in quality and precision that persists to the present day.
Distribution
National distribution depots are located in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban. They carry a wide stock range to service about 400 Industrial Distributors and specialized end-users around the country.
FEW products are exported to 40 countries worldwide through a network of wholly owned subsidiaries, distributors and agents.
