INTRODUCTION
This 4 event series is run and organized by the Rock Hoppers MTB club and is a great opportunity to keep fit through the cold winter months. The event is held in the relatively warm afternoons, so you can get up late and enjoy the sunshine.

FORMAT
Cross Country Lap Racing (XCO) like the Provincials, Nationals and World Cup. This will give you a taste of XCO in a relaxed atmosphere. The laps are generally between 5 and 7km long and quantity of laps vary depending on your age group and category (more info). This format will hone your skills and give you interval training like you have never experienced. Most of our pros have cut their teeth on this type of racing.
COURSE
If you have not done XCO before, don’t underestimate the relatively short distances! This course will push your lungs and heart rate to its max and give you a taste of what Burry feels like on the world stage. There is little to no chance to recover on this undulating and rocky course, needing effort and concentration most of the way. The climbs are short and steep with 90% single track. Don’t be disheartened if you are technically challenged as it is short enough for you to walk the tricky bits and still get around.
Phambili, a private farm near Muldersdrift.
