GGB’s Antifriction Bearings Improve Efficiency Within Aerospace, Automotive & Industrial Application
Product News Thursday, December 7, 2017: GGB North America
Antifriction bearings, as the name implies, are able to reduce friction between surfaces, improve machine efficiency and offer excellent wear performance over a vast variety of loads, speeds and temperatures in dry running conditions.
Suitable for linear, oscillating and rotating movements, in addition to lubricated applications, antifriction bearings boast a myriad of benefits across a wide range of applications and industries, including aerospace, automotive, industrial, construction, energy, agriculture and many more.
The majority of GGB bearings contain polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in the sliding layer, characterized by an exceptionally low coefficient of friction which ultimately reduces bearing friction, bearing wear and, most importantly, energy consumption.
Over 60 years ago, GGB invented the original antifriction bearings and bushings DU® and DX® that quickly became the industrial standard in high performance plain bearing solutions.
Thanks to the company’s engineering prowess, the overall efficiency of equipment and machinery is increased within the aerospace, automotive, and agricultural industries, among others, for reduced power input and a higher power output.
As the global leader in high performance bearing solutions, GGB has dealt with the constant increase in customer demands and expectations over the past six decades, ultimately answering the call time and time again.
GGB’s bearing range now includes over 50 distinctive antifriction bearing types, including DP4, HI-EX®, GAR-MAX®, HSG, EP™ range, GGB-CSM® and GGB-CBM® products.
