FILCON FILTERS SUPPLIES FILTERS FOR TOP SANDTON HOTEL’S WATER

Ensuring guests have clean water

WSP Consulting Engineers, a division of WSP Group Africa (Pty) Ltd, chose the Sun Central HEXB45 stainless steel filter bag housings from Filcon Filters CC to filter water for use in a top international hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg. The application called for the filtering of municipal water with a flow rate of 55 cubic meters per hour down to 5 micron at 5 bar operating pressure. The accompanying picture shows three HEXB45’s, each of which can accommodate a flow rate of 24 m3/h at 10 bar, installed in parallel on the roof top of the up-market hotel.

WSP project engineer, Lesley Padayachee, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the filtration equipment supplied by Filcon Filters and concluded that “I experienced good and effective sales and after sales services.”

Filcon Filters was established in June 2000 and has offices in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. In addition to representing a number of international filtration manufacturers, Filcon Filters has a wide range of filtration products manufactured to its design in Johannesburg. This range includes the Dirt Gobbla (a centrifugal separator), back flushing automatic strainers, in line basket strainers, purge strainers, and bag & cartridge housings. However, Filcon Filters prides itself in the number of years of filtration experience that the technical members have which enables the company to provide clear solutions to filtration needs and problems. Filcon has now extended its product range with the creation of a Laboratory Division to supply membrane filters and filter papers.
