Lime Silo - Fairview Mine, Barberton

The 220 m^3 hydrated lime storage silo was loaded in the rain on the weekend and has been transported to Barberton where it is currently being off-loaded and installed. The silo forms part of a lime plant which will be used to treat waste water. On the right the photo of the lime silo after being successfully transported to Barberton and lifted onto the foundations.
The silo has a 4.4 m diameter and is over 20 m long, but thanks to the special low beds that were used, this did not present a problem to transport to site.
