Company Description

Mechanology, Inc., is a recognized innovator in the field of compressors and expanders. Our positive displacement technology has been described as
the first major innovation in compressors in over 30 years, and Mechanology's technological developments have important ramifications for energy conservation,
reduced carbon emissions, and national energy independence.
Mechanology LLC was founded in 1989 to develop and market the patented Toroidal Intersecting Vane Machine, or TIVM, invented by Steve Chomyszak while
he was attending Stanford University. In 1999 the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) evaluated the TIVM as a potential solution to the air-management system of automotive fuel cells, and decided that the inherent efficiency, compactness, and thermodynamic
attributes of the TIVM could be of significant benefit. Mechanology was asked to design an air management system for an 80-kW PEM automotive system under a $2.7M DOE funded program.
In 2005 Mechanology began doing
