Company Description
UMEC USA was established in 2000 (Willmar, MN) as a US based service center offering R & D and sales support for Americas based customers. Our parent company, Universal Microelectronics Company (UMEC) located in Taichung Taiwan, has been in operation since 1984. UMEC has multiple product lines: Magnetics (Transformers & Inductors) and Power Supplies (DC DC Converters, AC DC Adapters, and AC DC Open Frame Supplies) that constitute over 100 million dollars in global sales. There are approximately 3,000 employees in the 1 million ft2 (approximately 96,000m2) of agency-certified facilities located in Taichung Taiwan (corporate headquarters) and Shenzhen China (Guangdong Province outside of Hong Kong). In recognition of manufacturing redundancy needs, both facilities are set-up as the catastrophic redundant facility of the other.
